How to save the database diagram in SQL Server Object Explorer

Developers can save all the changes they made to a database diagram, including any changes they made to the tables, columns, and other database objects, by saving it. When Developers working with SQL Server “Denali”, MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and MS SQL Server 2005 want to save the database diagram, they should follow the next steps:

1. From the File menu, choose Save <tablename>.

2. If this is a new diagram that they have never before saved, the Save As dialog box appears. Type a name for the diagram.

If they made changes to tables in an existing diagram, the Save dialog box appears and displays a list of changes that will be saved in the database when they save their diagram.

3. Click Yes (or OK if this is a new diagram) to update the database to match their diagram.
